The man whom the trees loved, novel by Algernon Blackwood 1912

A collection of weird and astonishing english short stories from the last century, reissued and translated in French in 2017. Very modern because it talks about the agonizing intuitions of men facing nature, coming up with the latest scientific discoveries.
In the short story that gives its title to the book, a forester is literally snapped up by the forest. It/she talks to him, sends him waves, asks him to come and take care of her, to the point of breaking up his relationship with his wife. But everything is in his imagination of course! Today, the scientists could say if there is some reality behind this intuition.

The forest is in danger and desperately calling us. Isnt’ it?!
